Fly Control Advice For Your Venue
I’d like to explore my options
To assess your fly-control requirements, I’ll require some photos of the space. This doesnt need to be technical.
Snap a couple of photos that show the big picture layout. If there are any specific problem areas you’d like to address snap a shot of that space too.
Things to consider;
- External openings – doors, windows, kitchen back door.
- Location of air conditioning units, air curtains, ceiling fans and rangehoods.
- Venue layout. A ‘pen on napkin’ sketch, with an arrow indicating airflow direction is ideal. Snap a pic of your drawing and text it.
- Overview photos. The counter in relation to front door, the kitchen pass and kitchen entry door. A shot of the front door from a distance, so l can see the ceiling and side walls.
If you are having issues with the tiny vinegar flies include photos of the areas you notice them first thing, when your first staff member opens up. This is where they breed and feed. When they are disturbed they relocate, generally somewhere up high out of the way. We need to find them when they are doing their own thing, before they are disturbed.
- Below the bar, bar sinks and ice storage troughs.
- Bar mats, runners and drinks trays
- Beisde fridge and glass washing machine engines
- Dry storage areas
- Mop, broom, dustpan, floor mats, dirty t towel bags
- Open wine and spirit bottles
- Bar recycling bins
